Pep Guardiola gives Erling Haaland injury update ahead of Young Boys clash

boss says is feeling ‘much better’ ahead of the side’s clash against Young Boys.

Haaland came off at half-time in City’s 6-1 win against Bournemouth on the weekend.

The Norwegian was struggling with an ankle issue, and Guardiola didn’t want to take any further risks over the striker.

City need a win against Young Boys to guarantee qualification for the knockout stages.

And, though Guardiola says he can’t guarantee Haaland will play before a training session this afternoon, he says he’s feeling much better.

‘I can’t [give an update],’ said .

‘We train this afternoon, so I don’t know.

‘I speak with the doctor and him. He told me he felt better, but I don’t know.

‘Tomorrow I will listen to doctor. If he says he doesn’t have pain, I will consider letting him play.

‘There are lots of days to recover.

‘Right now, if Erling doesn’t play, Julian is going to play there.’
